Security was tight and access restricted to Beijing's Tiananmen Square on Tuesday, the 35th anniversary of the June 4 crackdown.
Amnesty International said that 48 people had been detained,
placed under house arrest, questioned by the police, or
displaced prior to the event.
Despite considered to be an unintentional incident, the Chinese
government is yet to issue an official confirmation regarding
the ban.
The Chinese government has heightened security to secure the
25th anniversary of the Tiananmen tragedy, which will be held
today.
Protesters marched to Hong Kong's government headquarters
shouting "democracy now" and "end one-party rule".
